SI committed suicide in Bareilly

Bareilly, Nov 27(UNI) A police sub-inspector reportedly shot himself dead inside Baradari police station here on Tuesday.
Local officers, who reached the spot after the incident, claimed that the SI committed suicide as he was depressed after being cheated by a home guard. A case has been registered and a hunt was launched for the home guard.
Interestingly, the accused was earlier arrested for running an auto-lifting gang, but still he was doing the duty at the police station during which he cheated the victim.
Reports stated that SI, Satyaveer Singh (55), shot himself dead in the official quarter inside Baradari Police station in Bareilly. Later police reached the spot and shifted the victim to hospital but the doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.
Singh was presently posted in Mahrara police station in Etah and was going under suspension. A three page suicide note was recovered from his possession in which he held Ved Prakash, responsible for his death.
Singh claimed that when he was posted at Baradari police station as Mal Khana incharge, till August 2017, before he was shifted to Etah, he trust Ved Prakash, so he handed him over all the keys to look after the work.
He said that suddenly when he was handing over the charge, he checked the belongings and was shocked to find that huge cash (kept after being recovered during demonetisation) along with some valuables were missing from the Mal Khana.
After further inquiry, Ved Prakash escaped so Singh's seniors asked him to furnish all the items or face action.
Later, he tried to contact Mr Prakash, but his efforts went in vein and he was also placed under suspension. Singh said that since now he was facing action so he decided to end his life and committed suicide.
