Shreyas Iyer hits half century as second ‘test’ between India A and South Africa A ends in draw

Bengaluru, Aug 13 (UNI) India A made 181 for four with skipper Shreyas Iyer coming good with a fine 65 against South Africa A as the second and final unofficial ‘test’, affected by intermittent rain throughout the match, ended in a tame draw on the fourth and final day at Alur grounds here on Monday.
The match witnessed South Africa A make amends from a bad drubbing it received in the first encounter in which India A won by an innings and 30 runs by. The visitors made 319 in the first innings today, in reply to India A first knock score of 345.
After gaining a 36-run first innings lead and the match heading for a tame draw, India A made 181 for 4 with Shreyas Iyer making up with his earlier failure with the bat hitting a 103-ball 65 which was studded with four boundaries and an equal number of sixes. He added 86 runs for the third wicket with Ankit Bawne who remained not out on 64 hitting nine fours in a partnership that lasted 19.4 overs before Iyer was dismissed by left arm spinner Muthusamy.
