Shramajivi Sanghatana opposes Min Padvi's demand to declare holiday on World Tribal Day

Thane, Aug 5 (UNI) Pro-tribal outfit Shramajivi Sanghatana on Wednesday took strong exception to the State Tribal Affairs Minister K C Padvi's demand of declaring August 9, which marks the World Tribal Day, as a public holiday.
Citing the instance of the Rajasthan government, Minister Padvi had written to CM Uddhav Thackeray seeking public holiday on August 9, which drew the Sanghatana's ire.
Terming the declaration of the holiday as a secondary issue, Sanghatana Youth Wing chief Pramod Pawar asserted that the state government first take to resolving the "long pending issues of the tribals".
