Short film section of IFFI to open with film on Parrikar

Panaji, Nov 11 (UNI) Short film section of International Film Festival of India (IFFI), to be held in the city from November 20 to 28, will open with a film on former Goa Chief Minister Late Manohar Parrikar.
Speaking to reporters, Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) Vice Chairman Subhash Faldesai said, “Shorts IFFI 50 will open with a seven-minute film on Manohar Parrikar who brought the IFFI to Goa in 2004.''
Shorts IFFI 50 is a short film section of the international film festival which is now an annual event in the state.
Untill 2003, IFFI used to be held in different cities of the country.
When National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government came to power at the Centre in 2004, it decided to make Goa as permanent venue for the event. Parrikar was Chief Minister of the state then. He passed away in March this year following prolonged illness.
IFFI has entered its 50th year. ESG is co-host of the event along with Directorate of Film Festivals (DFF).
