Shivendra Singh Dungarpur to inaugurate IFFT-Orange Online Short & Docu Film Festival

Thrissur, Sep 19 (UNI) Filmmaker Shivendra Singh Dungarpur will inaugurate the first edition of the International Online Short and Documentary film festival jointly organised by the Orange Academy and the IFFT at 1730 hrs on Monday.
Paying homage to the Czechoslovakian maestro Jiri Menzel, a 7-hour long documentary made on him by Mr Dungarpur will be screened in the festival. He will also be talking on the inaugural session on the subject- “The Magical World of the Czechoslovakian New Wave”.
The festival is a tribute to two recently expired film personalities- Gaston Roberge, who is known as the father of film studies in India and Jiri Menzel, the filmmaker who is a pioneer of the Czech New Wave cinema. Other higlights including a retrospective on great Chilean documentary filmmaker Patricio Guzman, a country focus on Japan, 100th birth anniversary of Satyajith Ray, Masters & classics on Norman Mclaren, select documentaries produced by the EMMRC, Calicut University and a session on jury chairman, PN Ramachandra’s short and documentary films.

Gadag, April 25 (UNI) In a fiery campaign speech at Gajendragad in Gadag district late on Wednesday night, former Karnataka Chief Minister and BJP candidate from the Gadag-Haveri Lok Sabha constituency Basavaraj Bommai challenged Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to disclose and distribute his alleged "benami assets" before proposing the redistribution of the nation’s property.
