Shivakumar meets Jarkiholi amid CM tussle, EOW notice

Bengaluru, Dec 5 (UNI) The ongoing leadership tussle within the ruling Congress in Karnataka has gained fresh attention with Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar coming under the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Delhi Police scrutiny in connection with the National Herald case.
Shivakumar, who recently met senior Minister Satish Jarkiholi at a wedding event amid speculation about his chief ministerial ambitions, has reportedly been served a notice by the ED stating that he possesses vital information in the case.
Jarkiholi, considered close to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, and Shivakumar have had differences in the past. Their recent meetings, including the one on Thursday night at a wedding, have fuelled speculation that the Deputy CM is consolidating support within the party, even as both leaders played down any political significance.
