Shivakumar calls meeting with Kharge routine

Bengaluru, May 20 (UNI) Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Wednesday dismissed speculation over a leadership change and internal power struggle within the state Congress, saying that his recent meeting with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge was only a routine discussion focused on governance and organisational matters.
"I want to clearly state that my meeting with Mallikarjun Kharge was a routine one. There was no discussion whatsoever on the Chief Minister’s post or any leadership change," Shivakumar said.
He further rejected reports suggesting factionalism within the party, calling them baseless. "Whatever is being reported about internal divisions or leadership tussle is completely baseless. Our focus is only on strengthening the government and the party organisation," he said.
