Shiv Bhojan thali at Rs 5 till Sept, PDS scheme for orange cards to continue: Bhujbal

Shiv Bhojan thali at Rs 5 till Sept, PDS scheme for orange cards to continue: Bhujbal

Nashik, Jul 3 (UNI) Considering the COVID-19 woes, the Shiv Bhojan thali scheme--government's initiative to provide food to the needy at minimal pricing--will be given at Rs 5 up to the month of September, announced Food and Civil Supplies Minister Chhagan Bhujbal.
Rolled out on January 26 this year, the thali was priced at Rs 10 but the amount was halved after the pandemic outbreak so that more people, including stranded workers, homeless persons and students, can satiate their hunger without worrying to shell out much.
"Due to the unusual situation created by Corona, it has been decided to provide Shiv Bhojan thali at Rs five for next three months. The decision will be a great relief to the hungry and needy citizens," stated Minister Bhujbal on Thursday.
