Shinde reviews rain situation in Nagpur

Mumbai, Sep 23 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Saturday reviewed the situation created due to torrential rains in Nagpur.
The Chief Minister along with Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis held a telephonic discussion with the district collector in this regard.
Through CMO's social media handle X, Shinde directed to concerned officials to provide all necessary facilities to citizens of the areas affected by heavy rains and shift residents of dangerous houses and riverside settlements to temporary shelters immediately.
He also instructed to take help of additional units of NDRF, SDRF if the water level rises.
Reports stated that unabated rain lashed the Nagpur city area, inundating roads in many areas with flood waters.
So far 400 people have been shifted to safer places by an NDRF team.

MPCC chief demands relief for rain-hit farmers

Mumbai, Nov 28 (UNI) Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Nana Patole on Tuesday demanded that the state government should give an immediate assistance of Rs 25,000 per acre for non-irrigated crops and Rs 50,000 per acre for irrigated crops to farmers whose crops were damaged due to recent unseasonal rains in some parts of the state.
