Shimla Admin exempts specially-abled employees from physical attendance

Shimla, Sep 5 (UNI) District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Shimla, has announced exemption for specially-abled (Divyangjan) employees from mandatory physical attendance at workplaces until September 7, 2025, in view of the ongoing monsoon havoc.
The order, issued by Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap (IAS), who also chairs DDMA Shimla, was taken under Section 30 and Section 34 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
The decision follows heavy downpours that triggered landslides, uprooted trees, blocked roads, and disrupted electricity transformers and drinking water supply across Shimla district.
