Shia Waqf Board President makes an U-turn on his statement on Madarsas

Lucknow, Jan 23 (UNI) Making an U-turn on his earlier statement demanding ban on the Madarsas as it has link with terror organisations, Uttar Pradesh Shia Central Waqf Board (UPSCWB) chairman Waseem Rizvi on Tuesday has shot off a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath demanding modernisation of the Madarsas and stringent scrutiny of its activities.
The letter comes in the wake of the statement by PM and CM that there was no need of banning the madarsas but called for its modernisation and upgradation.
In his nine-point letter, sent to the PM and UP CM, which was also released to the media here on Tuesday, Mr Rizvi said that the government should make it mandatory to all the madarsas to hoist national tri-colour at all the national days like, Independence and Republic Days besides the national song should be sung by the students and teachers every day before start of the school.
