New Delhi, Oct 7 (UNI) The Sharad Yadav-led faction of the JD(U) is holding its National Council meeting on Sunday, in which it is going to rectify the decision of its National Executive meeting to remove Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as party president. Besides, the National Council will take the stock of the current political and economical scenario. Addressing the mediapersons here, senior party functionaries claimed that they have the support of 24 state units and all the office bearers will attend the Council. Sharad Yadav said the party will organise the nationwide agitation against the NDA government's economic policy and will start talks to other opposition parties to organise massive protest. He also demanded the National Green Tribunal's decision to ban to holding protest at Jantar Mantar be withdrawn. Sharad Yadav faction had removed Nitish Kumar from the President's post in its National Executive meeting held in September 17. The National Council will ratify the decision, party leader Arun Kumar Srivastava said. The number of MLAs, MPs and MLCs are not the real strength of the party, but party workers are the real asset and claimed it has the support from all its state units, he said. The National Executive of the Sharad Yadav faction had elected its Gujarat lawmaker Chottubhai Vasava as party president instead of Mr Nitish. Mr Vasava will preside the Council meeting and Mr Yadav will speak at the end of the Council meeting. UNI KNA AE 1809
