Sharad Pawar's BJP backlash continues as his tour reaches Jalna

Sharad Pawar's BJP backlash continues as his tour reaches Jalna

Jalna, Sep 20 (UNI) Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar continued his BJP backlash as his tour reached this district on Friday.

Started from September 17,the former Maharashtra Chief Minister is on a six-day tour to meet his partymen across the state ahead of assembly polls.

Here, he addressed a congregation of the NCP activists at the Matoshree lawn on the Ambad Road of this city.

Coming down heavily on the present Maharashtra government,he said, "The wrong policies of the BJP-led government have overthrown the state in a condition of great distress."

Expressing shock over the government's calmness despite the distressful condition of Maharashtra,he prodded the people to give a befitting reply to the ruling dispensation in the scheduled assembly polls.

"Presently, one of the big questions facing Maharashtra is suicide of farmers," he asserted.

He averred,"The government is in deep sleep though thousands of farmers have committed suicide in the state due to mounting debts and the farm products aren't able to fetch adequate prices."

He further said the government failed to tackle the recent flood situation in western Maharashtra.

"The Chief Minister just conducted an aerial inspection of the marooned areas but didn't meet the affected people," he claimed.

He reminisced how his government doled out monetary funds when this district was hit by drought.

"But,today's ruling party don't seem to be taking such a role.Hence, such rulers need to be changed or not?,"he questioned.

He affirmed that the people are still reaping the benefits of developmental works done during the earlier government of the Congress-NCP.

"Barrages were built on the river in these areas during the Congress-NCP government. Today, people are getting water because of these barrages,"he mentioned.

Commending the works done by former NCP Education Minister Rajesh Tope,he asked,"People are educating their children but where is employment?"

"This government has created an army of educated unemployed people,"he criticised.

He warned not to test patience of the youths else they will overthrow the government .

Taking his tour forward,Mr Pawar proceeded towards Aurangabad.
