Shakti criminal law amendment bill

Pune Jan 19 ( UNI): The 'Shakti Criminal Law Amendment' Bill, designed to curb violence against women, has been approved by both the Houses of the Legislature said Deputy Speaker of Maharashtra Legislative Council Nilam gore here on Wednesday.
If this bill is propagated and disseminated till it becomes law, then a "Shakti Law Awareness Committee" is being set up to disseminate information about this law to the common woman, gore said.
A meeting was held at Vidhan Bhavan today under the chairmanship of Dr. Neelam Gorhe, Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Council regarding the promotion and dissemination of Shakti Act. The meeting was actually attended by MAVIM President Jyoti Thackeray, Mumbai Municipal Corporation Mayor Kishori Pednekar, MAVIM Managing Director Shraddha Joshi, Women's Commission Member Secretary Anita Patil, as well as MLA Pranoti Shinde, MLA Dr. Bharti Lovekar, MLA through television system. Madhuri Misal, MLA Praniti Shinde, MLA Devyani Farande, Women's Commission chairperson Rupali Chakankar, Mumbai corporator Sheetal Mhatre, social activists Aurangabad Mangal Khinvasara, Beed Ramesh Bhise, Beed Manisha Tokle, Jalgaon Vasanti Dighe, Palghar Zilla Parishad president Vaidhi Wadhan were present, she said.

Aurangabad/Mumbai, May 22 (UNI) Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee president Nana Patole on Sunday raised doubt over sincerity of the Modi government at the Centre in giving relief to the people of the country by reducing excise duty on fuel and demanded to abolish unfair taxes on fuel from 2014 onwards so that fuel prices can be reduced in real sense and inflation can be curbed.

Fadnavis to lead Janakrosh Morcha in Aurangabad
