Chennai, Aug 29 (UNI) The UK-headquarters Helen O’Grady International Edu Drama Academy will bring its first professional production William Shakespeare's well known play ‘The Tempest’ here on October 27. The drama would be held at Mylapore Fine Arts Society. Credited with more than 30 houseful shows in Ooty, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Goa and other cities, ‘The Tempest’ has proven to be a great learning experience for higher secondary and college students. It was directed by renowned film actor and mime artist K Paintal. The play was a pantomime and entirely depicted by dance and music, performed primarily by senior students of Helen O’Grady. 'The students’ creativity and imagination is fired through the experience of live theatre which is mounted on a grand Broadway style musical', an Academy release said today. Decorated with adventure, magic and supernatural characters, the play explores the human nature of jealousy, greed, revenge, love and forgiveness, it added. This show was ideal for students from standard seven upwards and schools could choose to send their children to experience the play. Of the three shows on the day, the evening show would be open for the public. Helen O’Grady programme was introduced in Tamil Nadu in the year 2008 and was taught in 75 schools and 10 stand-alone studios in places like Chennai, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Trichy, Udumalpet, Pollachi, Hosur, Theni and Tuticorin.
