New Delhi, Jan 28 (UNI) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday will visit two hospitals in Civil Lines to meet the injured Delhi Police personnel who were attacked by the protesters on January 26 during the farmers’ tractor rally.
He will be visiting Shrushrut Trauma Centre and Teerath Ram Hospital in Civil lines areas here around 1200 hrs where the injured policemen have been admitted.
On January 26, the a section of farmers deviated from the designated routes of tractor rally and forced their way to ITO crossing and clashed with police personnel who attempted to stop them.
Similarly, the mob attacked them at City’s historic monuments Lal Quila and forcefully entered in the Red Fort.
According to the Delhi Police, more than 390 police men got injured in the chaos while controlling the rioters who are being identified through video clippings and CCTV camera footage.
The City police has lodged 25 FIRs in connection with the Republic Day violence case against 37 of the farmers’ leaders including Yogendra Yadav, Darshan Pal, Gurnam Chudhni, Medha Patkar, Kavita Kumguti, VM Singh, Rakesh Tikait and others with the grievous charges of attempt to murder, use of lethal weapons, incitement of violence, rioting and vandalism.
