SGGS Club rout Ropar Hawks in Gurmit Hockey

Chandigarh, Oct 28 (UNI) Sri Guru Gobind Singh Club handed out a 7-2 drubbing to Ropar Hawks in the opening match of the 48th S.N. Vohra’s All India Gurmit Memorial Hockey Tournament at the Sector 42 Hockey Stadium here on Monday.
The winners were leading by 2-1 at half time with Sanjay scoring in the 19th (penalty stroke) and 27th minutes. In between Suraj Kumar had levelled the score for Ropar Hawks by scoring field goal in the 20th minute.
On crossing over, Lovjeet restored parity for Ropar Hawks by converting a penalty stroke in the 40th minute. SGGS Club started putting more pressure with an organised game and one minute later were awarded a penalty corner which was converted by Diljeet in th 49th minute.
