SFI retains Kannur University Union, clash reported during polling

Kannur, Aug 6 (UNI) The Students Federation of India (SFI), ruling CPI(M) led students organisation, won all the five general seats and marked their 26th consecutive win in the students union election, after the formation of the Kannur Universtiy since 1997.
TDhe opposition party's joint student form- United Democratic Students Front (UDSF) wrested two seats, Kasaragod and Wayanad district executive members of the union from SFI this year.
SFI and UDSF workers brought out victory procession after the election process in the evening with the convoy of police personnel from Thavakkara campus to Kannur town.
