Severe heat wave conditions prevail at isolated pockets

Pune, June 6 (UNI) Heat wave to severe heat wave conditions prevailed in some pockets over Bihar and heat wave conditions in isolated pockets over West Bengal.
Day temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at many places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura; at a few places over Bihar; at isolated places over West Bengal and Sikkim; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.1°C) at many places over Jharkhand, Kerala, Mahe and Karnataka; at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Konkan, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal; at isolated places over Chhattisgarh and Odisha; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over Rayalaseema; at a few places over Telangana and Madhya Maharashtra; at isolated places over Vidarbha. They were appreciably below normal (- 3.1°C to -5.1°C) at many places over west Rajasthan; at a few places over Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi; at isolated places over Uttar Pradesh; below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at most places over east Rajasthan, at many places over Madhya Pradesh and Punjab; at a few places over Gujarat Region; at isolated places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and near normal over rest parts of the country.
The highest maximum temperature of 44.0°C was reported at Tikamgarh (east Madhya Pradesh).
