Seven pc candidates with criminal cases in Tripura polls, says ADR

New Delhi, Feb 10 (UNI) Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR) on Saturday stated that at least 22 candidates out of 297 candidates – about 7 per cent- contesting the Tripura Assembly election on February 18, have criminal cases against them.
Of these six percent, 17 candidates had declared serious cases against them, including one candidate, Martujuddin Choudhury, an independent candidate had declared a case related to murder. Six candidate had declared cases related to attempt to murder, the ADR report said.
Among the parties 11 out of 51 candidates from the BJP, 4 out of 59 candidates from the Congress, 2 out of 57 candidates from CPI(M), 2 out of 9 candidates from Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura (IPFT) and 1(4%) out of 24 candidates from AITC have declared criminal cases against them in the affidavit.
