Set of Origami related ‘Oru’ magazines now available in Pune for students

Pune, Dec 30 (UNI) A set of famous Japanese magazines ‘Oru’, dedicated to Origami and published in Japan in the 1990s, is now available for Punekars, who are learning Origami or Japanese language, in the city. Thanks to the efforts taken by Swati Dharmadhikari, a member of Origami Mitra Sanstha, Pune and a Japanese translator, the treasure trove, related to Origami, is now available in Pune.
The set of magazines contain information about Origami designs, folding techniques, photos and write-ups by well-known Origami Masters in Japanese. Yogendra Puranik alias Yogi San, a Japanese politician of Indian-origin, who for the first time won an election in Japan, presented the set of these magazines to Swati Dharmadhikari, at an informal function recently. Dharmadhikari for many years was trying to get hold of these magazines, but since the publication had stopped, she wasn’t getting it. However, these magazines were available online, after which Yogi San bought them and gifted them to Dharmadhikari.
Sharing details about it, Swati Dharmadhikari said, “Oru, a Japanese magazine was published in Japan from 1993-1997. During this period, when I was learning Origami, I saw these magazines with Indutai Tilak in Kesari Wada. These magazines were specially known for Origami and contained valuable information about Origami, which is useful for those learning the art and Japanese language.”
