Services men , Kerala women enter finals in B'ball nationals

Mysuru, Jan 16(UNI) Services men and Kerala women entered the finals defeating Punjab and Delhi , respectively, in the semi finals of the 66th senior national basketball championships being held at Chamundi Vihar indoor stadium here, late last night.
In the men's semi-finals Punjab and Services faced each other for the first time in the tournament.. Punjab was yet to taste defeat in the tournament and were looking to continue their resurgent run to the final. But Services had other plans as they began the game well led by their point guard Joginder Singh. Establishing an early lead in the contest, Services were the better team in the first half.
The Services aces Ashutosh Rai and Setu SM found the target for their team, giving the team a big lead ge (60 to 40). Punjab centre Gagandeep Singh had a below par outing with only 11 points. Gurvinder Gill put up a double for Punjab with 16 points and 11 rebounds, including a spectacular alley-oop dunk.
