Mumbai, Dec 3 (UNI) State Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Saturday announced the establishment of a separate Ministry of Disabled Persons in the state on the occasion of International Day of Disabled Persons.
He was speaking on the occasion of the World Day of Persons with Disabilities, a state level program was organized in the Convocation Hall of Mumbai University.
While informing that 2063 posts have been created for this and a fund of Rs.1143 crore has been provided for it, he said.
Women and Child Development Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, MP Bachu Kadu, Yamini Jadhav, Chief Secretary Manukumar Srivastava among others were present on the dias.
Mr Shinde felicitated the disabled brothers working in various fields released a calendar based on the disabled by him.
Mr Shinde said that our state is a state for the common good. Everyone felt that there should be a separate Ministry of Disability. Decisions will be made in the interest of the people in this state. Today is a golden day for the differently abled and a separate department has come into existence. In establishing this independent Ministry of Welfare of Disability without any struggle for this historic decision, he added.
