Separate cell to be set up for waste management: Deputy CM Eknath Shinde

Mumbai, July 14 ( UNI) Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said in the Question Hour in the Legislative Assembly today that a separate cell will be set up to resolve the problems faced by the Municipal Corporation and Municipalities in the state.
Replying to question raised by assembly member Vijay Deshmukh, Shinde said that the work of disposing of the waste collected from Solapur city daily in a scientific manner is being done by Solapur Bioenergy Company Limited.
A biogas project with a capacity of 300 tons per day is operating here. Biogas and fertilizer are produced from wet waste, while dry waste is separated and sent to processing industries. Proper classification of waste in the municipality and municipal corporation is essential.
