Sensex up by 40 pts

Mumbai, Feb 22 (UNI) The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Friday rose by 40 points at 35,938.52 as buying was seen in Materials, Realty, Consumer Durable and Bankex stocks.



The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too rose by 10 points to 10,798.95.



The sensex registered intra day high and low at 35,938.52 and 35,795.79 respectively.



The Nifty recorded intra day high and low at 10,798.95 and 10,758.40 points respectively.

The gainers were VEDL by 2.04 pc to Rs 167.95, Yes Bank by 2 pc to Rs 219.30, ONGC by 1.63 pc to Rs 149.40 and HCL Tech by 1.47 pc to Rs 1068.95.



The losers were Kotak Bank by 3.49 pc to Rs 1243.90, Reliance Industries by 1.20 pc to Rs 1231.45, HDFC Bank by 0.53 pc to Rs 2104 and Asian Paints by 0.43 pc to Rs 1391.70.
