Mumbai, May 27 (UNI) The BSE sensex on Wednesday recovered by 216 points to 30,825.18 in the opening trade on fresh buying in Telecom, Finance, Bankex and Capital Goods stocks.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange too moved up by 56 points to 9,085.60. The sectoral indices like Telecom, Finance, Bankex and Capital Goods stocks pushed the market.

The Mid cap fell by 0.43 per cent and Small cap eased by 0.17 per cent. Of 30 scrips, 13 advanced, while 17 declined.

The gainers were Kotak Bank by 1.69 per cent to Rs 1171.95, L& T by 1.67 per cent to Rs 839.60, ICICI Bank by 1.66 per cent to Rs 297.40, Axis Bank by 1.24 per cent to Rs 345.65 and HeroMoto Corp by 0.88 per cent to Rs 2131.45.

The losers were M& M by 3.03 per cent to Rs 416.25, Ultra Cemco by 2.17 per cent to Rs 3700, ITC by 1.91 per cent to Rs 187.85 and Asian Paints by 1.55 per cent to Rs 1605.26.
