Mumbai, Jul 11 (UNI) The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Thursday recovered by 157 points to 38,714.97 in opening trade as fresh buying was witnessed in Materials, Finance, Health Care, Auto and Utilities.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too rose by 45.95 points to 11,544.85.
The sectoral indices like materials, finance, health care, auto and utilities pushed the stock the market up.
The scrips like Hero MotoCorp, IndusInd Bank, VEDL and Hind Unilever gained while selling in Yes Bank, Tech Mathindra and ICICI Bank capped from futher rise, brokers said.
The gainers were Hero MotoCorp by 2.19 pc to Rs 2452.70, IndusInd Bank by 1.49 pc to Rs 1509.95, VEDL by 1.22 pc to Rs 161.95 and Hind Unilever by 1.14 pc to Rs 1737.35.
The losers were Yes Bank by 1.94 pc to Rs 91.20, Tech Mahindra by 1.56 pc to Rs 664.10, ICICI Bank by 1.16 pc to Rs 425.95.
