Sensex rallied by 419.87 pts

Mumbai, Jul 16 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Thursday registered a massive gain of 419.87 points at 36,471.68 following gains in IT, Technology, Bankex and Auto stocks.

The nifty of national stock exchange rose by 121.75 pts to 10,739.95.

The Nifty recorded days high and low at 10,755.30 and 10,595.20 pts respectively.

The sensex moved up by 350 pts to 36,401.20 in early trade. It spurted by 473 pts to 36,524.62, days high, before closing at 36,471.68, up by 419.87 pts from its previous close.

It was dropped by 13 pts to 36,038.41, days low.

The sectoral indices like IT, Technology, Bankex, Auto and Health Care lifted the market today.

In scrips, Infosys was a star gainer, up by 9.45 pc to Rs 910 after its June quarter results beat Street estimates with an 11.5 per cent YoY rise in net profit at Rs 4,233 crore.

Besides, other IT stocks also gained. HCL Tech, TCS, and Tech Mahindra climbed between 1 to 4 per cent and were the top Sensex gainers.

The Mid Cap was up by 0.71 pc while the small cap fell by 0.13 pc.

In 30 scrips, 19 advanced while 11 declined.
