Mumbai, Sept 18 (UNI) A slight improvement was seen in the equity market in early trade on Wednesday as the BSE Sensex opened higher by 140 pts, snapping a negative trend of last two sessions on fresh buying in almost all sectoral indices include Materials, Bankex, Realty, and Industrials.
In last two sessions, the BSE sensex was dropped more than 900 points.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too rose by 55 points to 10,872.80.
The Sensex registered intra-day high and low at 36,712.99 and 36,465.92 points respectively.
The Nifty recorded day intra day high and low at 10,885.15 and 10,804.85 points respectively.
The gainers were Tata Steel by 3.34 pc to Rs 355.95, Bajaj Finance by 2.45 pc to Rs 347.95, VEDL by 1.58 pc to Rs 147.85, SBI by 1.48 pc to Rs 277.95 and Tata Motors by 1.31 pc to Rs 123.55.
The losers were ONGC by 2.51 pc to Rs 126.45, Yes Bank by 1.07 pc to Rs 64.45,
ITC by 0.72 pc to Rs 235.45 and Sun Pharma by 0.65 pc to Rs 417.90.
