Sensex falls by 143.30 pts

Mumbai, Feb 27 (UNI) The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) remained weak for the fifth straight session on Thursday as it slipped by 143.30 points to settle at 39,745.66, as heavy selling was seen in Energy, Oil and Gas, Power and Realty stocks.
Further, expiry of futures & options (F&O) contracts for February series, too, added volatility to the stocks.
The National Stock Exchange (NSE) too eased by 45.20 points at 11,633.30.
Sensex registered day's high and low at 39,947.80 and 39,423.27 points respectively while Nifty recorded day's high and low at 11,633.85 and 11,536.70 points respectively.
