Sensex down by 194.39 pts

Mumbai, Oct 19 (UNI) The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange
(BSE) slipped by 194.39 points to close negative at 32,389.96 in the
Muhurat Trading on Thursday, as investors turned cautious ahead of a
long weekend amid poor global cues.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too dropped by 64.30
points to 10,146.55.
There was a special trading session for an hour between 1830
hrs and 1930 hrs.

After opening higher by 72 points to 32,656.75 to mark the start
of Hindu Samvat year 2074, it went into red and settled at
32,389.96, down by 194.39 points.
The sensex registered high and low at 32,663.06 and 32,319.37
points respectively.
The Nifty recorded high and low at 10,211.95 and 10.123.35
respectvely.
The sectoral indices that kept the market weak were Bankex,
Finance, Auto and Energy stocks however, buying in Telecom and
Capital Goods restrcicted from further losses, brokers informed.
Seeing scrips, Adani Ports was the major loser down by two
per cent to 398.85, followed by ICICI Bank by 1.98 pc to Rs 257.85,
Kotak Bank by 1.64 pc to Rs 107.35, and NTPC by 1.60 pc to Rs 175.15.
The gainers were Bharti Airtel by 2.06 pc to Rs 471.05, Lupin by
0.34 pc to Rs 1052.50 and Infosys by 0.29 pc to Rs 927.10.
Market breadth, indicating the overall health of the market
remained positive.
On the BSE, 1,487 shares gained, 986 shares declined, while 111
remained unchanged.
