Sena MP Raut flays BJP over Sambhajiraje issue

Sena MP Raut flays BJP over Sambhajiraje issue

Kolhapur, May 28 (UNI) Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Saturday refuted charges of Chatrapati Sambhajiraje against the Sena chief and state chief minister, Uddhav Thackeray.
Withdrawing the nomination for the Upper House, Chhatrapati Sambhajiraje said in Pune that
chief minister Uddhav Thackeray has stepped back from his word, which he had giving in a meeting.
Sambhajiraje had appealed to Mr Thackeray to give support to his candidatures as an independent candidate for Rajya Sabha's second seat, but he didn't keep his word.
In a press conference Saturday, MP Raut said, there is no question of credibility or keeping word of Uddhav Thackeray, as Shiv Sena had already decided to give its candidate for second Rajyasabha seat".
Mr Raut made it clear that since the second Rajyasabha seat belongs to Shiv Sena, the party had already decided to contest the second seat of Rajyasabha and Mr Thackeray had told Chhatrapati Sambhajiraje in the meeting that he(Mr Thackeray) would have to talk with other party office bearers on whether Shiv Sena to support for Chhatrapati Sambhajiraje's candidatures as a Maha Vikas Aghadi candidate or whether as a SS candidate.
But now others including Sambhajiraje, raising question on credibility of Mr Thackeray, which was totally wrong.
Without taking name of Sambhajiraje, Mr Raut said if someone decides to make career in politics, he should have to take base of any political party, but Chhatrapati Sambhajiraje refused to do so, now this subject (of Chhatrapati Sambhajiraje) has ended.
Raut also slammed BJP leader and former chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and state BJP president, Chandrakant Patil also as they criticised Shiv Sena for not extending support to Sambhajiraje.
Mr Raut quipped they should not interfere in this matter, saying who is Mr Patil, is he a descendant of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj ?
Criticising Fadnavis, the MP Raut said he (Fadnavis) should give clarification on breaking their words in 2019 on giving chief ministership for two-and-half year to Shiv Sena.
Actually, BJP and it's leaders were nothing to do with this subject, and why should we answer such questions as this subject was between Sambhajiraje and Shiv Sena and other parson should not impede, he added.
