Self-aggrandisement drive of LDF Govt led to surge in COVID cases in Kerala: Chennithala

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 6 (UNI) Opposition Leader in Kerala Assembly Ramesh Chennithala on Thursday flayed Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for trying to hold health workers and the Opposition responsible for the surge in COVID-19 infections in Kerala.
“It was the government propaganda that Kerala has won the war against Covid-19 pandemic that created a false sense of security leading to sections of people lowering the guard. Like a bad worker blaming his tools, the Chief Minister is blaming health workers, who are doing an exemplary work against all odds, of negligence,” Chennithala told a press conference here today (Thursday).
“It is the self-aggrandisement drive of the government that has backfired,” said Chennithala, adding that the statement of the Chief Minister that the Opposition is having double face on COVID containment is a travesty of truth.
