Security scaled up in Mumbai for R-Day after alert

Mumbai, Jan 22 (UNI) Security at important railway stations in the city was beefed up ahead of the Republic Day (January 26) following an alert warning about the Pathankot-style attack in the metro cities.
Following the Pathankot terror attack and the upcoming Republic Day, the metro cities are on alert since Wednesday. The railwaypolice are making security arrangements following an intelligence advisory. However, such alerts are also to keep security measures in place to deal with any untoward situations, sources said.
Precautionary security checks have been intensified at railway stations including Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) and Dadar on the Central Railway, as well as on Churchgate and Mumbai Central on the Western Railay with presence of security personnel and dog squads.
