Security forces recover 200-Kg rocket in Churachandpur

Imphal, Oct 7 (UNI) Security forces in Manipur have uncovered a 9-foot-long, country-made rocket equipped with explosives and a detonator, weighing approximately 200 kg, police said today.
The weapon was found in the general area between S. Lonphai and Tuikong villages under Churachandpur Police Station in Churachandpur district. The discovery was part of an extensive intelligence-based combing, cordon, and search operation aimed at apprehending individuals involved in extortion and other criminal activities in the state.
The operation led to several arrests, but the specific details have not been disclosed by authorities. The recovery of such a large and potent weapon underscores the escalating security challenges faced by the region.

Mizoram Police, in a statement on Friday, said that on November 4, a woman identified as Lalchhuanthangi (50), a resident of Khatla South, Aizawl, who had been living in New Delhi, was apprehended in the national capital by a team from Zokhawthar Police Station with the assistance of the Special Bureau and Delhi Police.
