Security forces arrest two militants in Manipur

Imphal, March 8 (UNI) Security forces carried out two successful operations on Saturday leading to the arrest of two active militants in separate incidents, police said on Sunday.
In the first operation, security personnel arrested an active cadre from Aihang village along the Indo-Burma Sugnu Road.
The arrested individual was reportedly involved in a kidnapping case registered at Waikhong Police Station in Kakching district. Police stated that further investigation is underway.

Rare albino snake rescued in Odisha, likely to be shifted to Nandankanan zoo for treatment

Bhubaneswar, Apr 18 (UNI) In a rare wildlife rescue, villagers in the Chhayal Singh area under Bonth block of Odisha’s Bhadrak district rescued an albino snake and safely handed it over to forest officials. The snake, noticed by locals on Friday, was carefully captured and later handed over to the Forest Department.

Odisha: 33 wedding party members injured as vehicle overturns in Koraput

Bhubaneswar, April 18 (UNI) At least 33 members of a wedding party were injured, including 13 critically, after the vehicle they were travelling in overturned at Boriput Ghat under Laxmipur block in Odisha’s Koraput district. According to sources, the group was returning to Bala village under Narayanpatna police limits on Friday night when the accident occurred.

Bengal CEO to take aerial trip of key districts ahead of first phase of polling

Kolkata, April 18 (UNI) In an effort to cover all districts scheduled for election ahead of the first phase of election in the state, West Bengal’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Manoj Kumar Agarwal is likely to use a helicopter to review poll preparedness.
Nearly two decades ago in 2006, then CEO Debashis Sen had undertaken a similar aerial tour before elections.
