Secretariat fire: Kerala Cabinet decides to take action against media

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 23 (UNI) Kerala Cabinet on Wednesday decided to initiate legal action against the media which published fake news related to the recent fire that broke out in the Government Secretariat.
The Cabinet which met here felt that a section of media and a few politicians had deliberately spread fake news saying that several valid documents related to communications with the UAE Consulate were destroyed in the fire, creating bad image to the protocol department of the State Government.
The Cabinet also decided to approach the Press Council of India (PCI) for taking action against the media which published the fake news on the Secretariat fire.
