Multan, Jan 25 (UNI) Left-arm spinner Noman Ali etched his name in the record books as the first Pakistan spinner to claim a Test hat-trick, delivering a remarkable spell of 6-41 to dismantle the West Indies on the opening day of the second Test at Multan Cricket Stadium on Saturday.
However, the visitors mounted a spirited comeback to finish the day with a slender nine-run lead.
Spinners ruled the day, claiming 16 of the 20 wickets that fell. Gudakesh Motie and Jomel Warrican led West Indies’ counterattack with the ball, sharing seven scalps between them to bowl out Pakistan for 154 in response to the tourists’ 163.
