Second entry gate and façade improvement of Jalandhar railway station to cost Rs 2.77 crore

Jalandhar, July 21 In a major breakthrough aimed at facilitating the residents of the city, the work on second entry to the city Railway Station along with the façade improvement would start soon under the Smart City Project.
A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting held under the chairmanship of the Lok Sabha MP Chaudhary Santokh Singh, Chief Executive Officer of the Smart City Project Jitendra Jorwal and Chairman of Jalandhar Improvement Trust Daljeet Singh Ahluwalia. It was decided in the meeting that the Lok Sabha MP, CEO Smart City and Chairman Improvement Trust would hold a meeting with the General Manager Railways on July 26 regarding these projects at New Delhi. During the meeting both these issues would be deliberated upon for the early execution of this work.
The Jalandhar Smart City would float the tenders for the façade improvement project of the city to be executed at a cost of Rs 2.77 crore. Mr Jorwal said that the project was fully ready and would be kicked off after the meeting with the General Manager Railways. He said that projects aims at development of the Jalandhar Railway Station project through Façade improvement, soft and hard landscaping, streamline traffic circulation through one-way road, development of Drop-off area and pick-up area, organising the parking area for private car, two-wheelers and three-wheelers.
