SEC ask licenced arms holders to surrender their weapons pre-polls

Puducherry, Sep 26 (UNI) In view of the Local Body Elections here, the State Election Commission(SEC) on Sunday asked the licenced arms holders to surrender their arms at the nearest police station till the election process is over.
According to a statement from the SEC, carrying of arms and other deadly weapons are being banned under section 144 CrPC till the end of the local body election here .
Notably, the Local Body elections are to be held here in three phases next month.
