Hyderabad, July 12 (UNI) South Central Railway (SCR) has achieved another milestone by going digital

in Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS).

Issue of Unreserved Tickets with Upgraded ‘UTS’ Mobile Applicatio will be introduced this month on July 16,

over South Central Railway Jurisdiction.

SCR is in the forefront in envisaging digital technologies for the convenience of its valued rail users, stated Vinod

while briefing media persons on the introduction of UTS Mobile App , here on Thursday.

He stated that the mobile app will immensely facilitate large section of rail users who travel daily in unreserved segment.

It will be very useful in saving time during peak hours for purchase of tickets without standing in queues at counters, he

said digitization of Railway services has been a priority area of Union minister for Railways Piyush Goyal and it is being taken

forward by the Zone with implementation of various digital avenues for the convenience of passengers, the GM said.

SCR is also providing free Wi-Fi facility at 50 rural stations apart from 37 stations in A1 and A category on its jurisdiction, he

said SCR has enabled cashless Digi-pay transactions at 12 important stations on its network.

Several mobile apps such as Hyderabad Live Train Enquiry System (HYLITES); Train Arrival Departure and Amenities at Stations

(TAADAST); Navigation for Railway Station (NavRas) and Rail Station Info at Kacheguda station were introduced on SCR to

facilitate the information needs of rail users, he added.

Explaining the features of UTS mobile app, Vinod stated that the mobile app is available on Google play Store for downloading

on Andorid phones; iStore on iPhones; OVI Store on Windows phone.

The app is available in 554 UTS stations over South Central Railway to facilitate the users. The users can create Railway Wallet

(R-Wallet) and avail 5 per cent bonus on every recharge to the Wallet, he informed.

The app is made to protect the interest of customers and also features the several security arrangements to avoid misuse with

advanced technology like Geo- fencing technology which restricts booking of the tickets inside the railway station and on-board

to curb ticketless travel.

The users can also opt for printed ticket by booking on the mobile app, which will be delivered at the counters or ATVMs/Co-TVMs

available at station premises on submission of the booking code along with mobile number.

Tickets cannot be forwarded to the other mobile users and it changes the background colour on daily basis at the same time scrolling

text on ticket and QR Code also features to avoid misuse, he added.

Earlier, M.G.Sekharam, Principal Chief Commercial Manager has presented a detailed presentation on the salient features of UTS Mobile

App.
