School children from Leh call on Rijiju

New Delhi, July 12 (UNI) A group of 22 school children from Leh region of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday called on the Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju here.
The students in the age group of 14-17 years are on a Bharat Darshan Tour from July 10 to July 22, organised by the Indo-Tibetan Border Force (ITBP).
While interacting with the children, Mr Rijiju said that he is happy to meet the children of Leh and this tour will help them to understand the diversity and beauty of India. He said that the study tour will improve their knowledge and general awareness about historical places, social values, culture and traditions.
The State Minister for Home lauded the ITBP for arranging the Bharat Darshan Tour giving the children an opportunity to witness the rich cultural heritage of the country.
This tour is conducted to expose them to the historical, cultural and social people of the country and the progress made in industrial, technological and scientific fields and also to inculcate in them a sense of pride for the country.
“The students will go to Bhubaneswar (Odisha) after visiting the historical places like Red Fort, Akshar Dham Temple and Parliament House in Delhi”, the official release of the ITBP said.
The border guarding force ITBP organises this type of tours every year. There were 14 such tours were organised by the ITBP. This rear the Force has planned for 12 tours to various parts of the country.
