SC to hear plea seeking 'unified probe' in Sushant Singh case

New Delhi, Aug 12 (UNI) The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear a fresh petition on Thursday, seeking 'unified CBI investigation' into the death case of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Sharad Arvind Bobde will hear the plea of Bharatiya Janata Party leader and lawyer Ajay Aggarwal on August 13.
Mr Aggarwal has said in his PIL that the "whole country is shocked by the way the Mumbai Police is investigating this case and it is necessary to have a unified probe."
The Apex Court had earlier dismissed the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) of one Alka Priya and Mumbai-based law student Dwivedra Dubey on July 30 and August 7 respectively.
Notably, last Friday, the top court rejected Dubey's plea saying that the father of the deceased is already pursuing the case and there is no need of intervention of a stranger.
Mr. Aggarwal, who has been pursuing the Bofors scam case, also referred the media report that Sushant Singh Rajput's live-in partner Rhea Chakraborty "had withdrawn Rs 15 Crore from the bank account of the actor out of total Rs. 17 Crores balance."
In an additional affidavit, he also contended that 'there are many loopholes in the initial stage of the probe'.
However, renowned criminal lawyer Ujjwal Nikam on Wednesday dismissed the allegations levelled against the Mumbai police, in connection with the Bollywood actor's case.
He also said it is "wrong" to say the Mumbai Police was keeping quiet all this time or not doing anything in the probe, slamming the Bihar Police, saying its allegations against Mumbai Police were 'regrettable', as the case is out of its jurisdiction.
