New Delhi, Feb 19 (UNI) The Supreme Court on Wednesday asked if Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, can explain in person the proposal to introduce non-polluting vehicles, which can run on electricity/ hydrogen.
A bench, headed by Chief Justice of India Sanjay Arvind Bobde, during the course of the hearing today, clarified that invitation to the minister is not a summons from Apex Court.
It sought Centre's reply in four weeks on a petition seeking timely implementation of the Electric Vehicle Policy (EVP) and Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of (Hybrid &) Electric Vehicles (FAME) India scheme.
