SC reserves treasurer post for women in Delhi Tax Bar Associations

New Delhi, Jan 22, (UNI) The Supreme Court on Wednesday directed that the post of Treasurer and 30% of the Executive Committee positions in the Delhi Tax Bar Association and Delhi Sales Tax Bar Association be reserved exclusively for women lawyers.
A bench comprising Justice Surya Kant, Justice Dipankar Datta, and Ujjal Bhuyan issued the directive, stating, "The earmarking of the post of Treasurer and 30% of Executive Members exclusively for women candidates, as directed earlier with respect to the Delhi District Bar Associations, shall apply mutatis mutandis in the case of Delhi Tax Bar Association (including Sales Tax Bar Association) as well".
The court further clarified that these reservations would be subject to the same eligibility conditions as outlined in its previous orders.
