New Delhi, May 23 (UNI) The Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed the petition of a pregnant woman seeking its direction to sit in her LLB examination.
She was denied permission by the University of Delhi and was advised not to take her LLB examination on the ground that her attendance was short.
A division bench of the apex court, headed by Justice AM Khanwilkar and also comprising Justice Naveen Sinha refused to give any relief to the pregnant woman.
"We are dismissing the petition. We ask the petitioner to approach the Delhi High court division bench, if she wants any relief," the two-judge bench of the apex court said in its order.
The pregnant woman knocked the doors of the apex court after her petition was dismissed by the Delhi High court.
The Supreme Court asked her to approach the Delhi High court division bench, as her matter was pending before it.
The Delhi High Court had also refused to grant her any relief, forcing her to knock the doors of the Supreme Court for relief.
While dismissing her plea, the top court said, "we are feeling very uncomfortable, as it seems that we will pass an order at 1pm, and she will go and attend the examination."
