Srinagar, May 29 (UNI) A sarpanch was killed and his wife and another person were injured, when two vehicles collided in the frontier district of Kupwara, official sources said here on Friday.
They said two vehicles collided at Shartwari crossing in Hatmulla area at Handwara of Kupwara on late Thursday night, injuring Sarpanch Mohammad Sarwar Ganie, his wife Mahtaba Begum and Mohammad Iqbal Waza, who was driving one of the vehicles.
The injured were rushed to a hospital at Handwara, where 52-year-old Ganie succumbed.
