Vadodara, Sep 15 (UNI) The Sardar Sarovar dam on the river Narmada in Kevadia of central Gujarat, the lifeline of water supply in this western state, reached 138.55 metres just 13 cm below the highest level of 138.68, official said on Sunday.
By Sunday noon, the dam had reached its 99.56 per cent capacity.
According to the official information received from the Narmada Flood control office here, the water level was stable between 12 to 1 hours, while it was continuously rising since the morning when it was 138.32m. At 8 hour, it rose to 138.34 metre from 138.32. Around 9 hour it reached 138.39m, 10 am 138.45m, 11 am 138.53m while at 12 am, touching 138.55m at 1 hour. At the time of filling the report, it was stable at the same level.
