Saplings should be planted for future generations' health: Minister Ponnam Prabhakar

Karimnagar (Telangana), July 15 (UNI) Telangana Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar emphasized the importance of planting saplings to ensure the health and well-being of future generations.
Participating in the Vanamahotsavam program at Satavahana University, here on Monday, he recalled that Rajiv Gandhi once called for everyone to plant saplings. Minister Prabhakar announced that fruit-bearing and other essential plants would be provided to every household in the town.
He stressed the responsibility of protecting these plants and mentioned that a target of 43 lakh plants has been set for the districts. "Everyone should plant saplings. Planting should be a part of our life; it should be part of us," he said.
Minister Prabhakar also highlighted his contributions as an MP, including bringing food and science technology as well as an employment course. He urged the staff and students to maintain the plants in the vacant spaces around the building.
Minister Prabhakar called for geo-tagging each plant and reiterated that the planting program is not just a government initiative but a people’s program, aimed at protecting the future generation as a social responsibility.
