Sanjay Tandon takes up door-to-door campaign in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, May 16 (UNI) BJP Chandigarh President Sanjay Tandon on Thursday carried out a door-to-door campaign to support party candidate Kiron Kher, who is seeking re-election, here at Sector 16 market.
Mr Tandon was momentously welcomed by the shopkeepers in the market with flowers and garlands.
Speaking on the occasion, he said, "BJP has always stood by the businessman and traders and would continue to do so. The saffron party follows the ideology of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ and started several welfare schemes, for benefit of the people. Also, a pension scheme is going to be started for small traders.
The government also approved one rank one pension for retired defence personnel.
Mr Tandon added that the Modi government is going to give more impetus to all the welfare schemes started in last 5 years.
He also appealed the people to support BJP to make Narendra Modi Prime Minister once again.
Councillor Ravi Kant Sharma and several BJP workers from the ward accompanied him.
The Chandigarh Lok Sabha (Union Territory) seat along with other six states will go to polls in the last leg on May 19 and the results will be declared on May 23.
